Keys, applications, and content identity
Application
An application is the business and environment boundary in the console. Create separate applications for production, staging, and materially different products so that policy, usage, and diagnostics remain easy to interpret.
SDK key
An SDK key identifies an authorized application and environment. Treat it as a credential: scope it to the smallest required audience, keep it out of public repositories, and rotate it when exposure is suspected.
Content ID
contentId identifies the underlying media asset for peer aggregation. Keep it stable across signed URL changes and playback sessions. Do not use a full signed URL as the content identity.
Session ID
Each playback receives an independent session context. Close or dispose the session when the player is released or the source changes.
